His veterinary journey began with a deep interest in surgical care, which led him to spend his first year volunteering at a humane society to gain real-world surgical experience. From there, he continued to hone his skills through extensive continuing education, always striving to stay current and provide the highest level of care.
Dr. Richard enjoys working with dogs, cats, and small mammals, with special interests in internal medicine, surgery, and exotic pet care. He felt called to veterinary medicine early in life—animals have always been drawn to him, and he loves the problem-solving nature of diagnosing and treating patients. To him, “fixing an animal is like solving a puzzle,” and he believes wholeheartedly that there is no such thing as a bad animal.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Richard leads a very active lifestyle. He enjoys rock climbing, flag football, ultimate frisbee, and unwinding with a great anime series.
